To truly understand Greenwood Capital is to go back a half-century to a time when the textile industry was flourishing and Greenwood Mills was one of the leading manufacturers in the world. Thousands of South Carolina-based employees trusted their pensions to the Investment Division of Greenwood Mills, what would become the independent entity Greenwood Capital Associates in 1983. The experience of managing a multi-million dollar portfolio and the retirement incomes of so many hard-working families through turbulent times shaped the mindset of our firm.

We were then and we are now decidedly conservative in our approach.

We are not driven by the pursuit of quick returns. We manage for the long term.

We are not guided by whim and supposition. We are disciplined and deliberate in our approach to investing.

We are not naïve to think we can predict the future. But as a team – and only as a team – we can make reasoned and prudent choices and strive to meet our clients' objectives over time.
